COVID-19 SAFETY PLAN

Updated 6-25-21

Your health and safety is of the utmost importance to us. We have been working diligently with all of our hotels and convention centers to come up with the safest possible experience for all of our clients and also for the Streetz staff and faculty. We understand that some of these steps may be too far for some and not far enough for others. We will continue to update our procedures as we receive more information.

Please know these changes are not long term, but only in place to assist us in bringing you the event you all know and love while being as safe as possible. Thank you again for your continual trust, support, and patience as we navigate this difficult time.

UPDATED SAFETY PROCEDURES

Throughout our season, we have been very cautious of everyone’s health and safety as we operated with the highest awareness of Covid-19. With Nationals just around the corner, Streetz has been closely monitoring the state of the country as it pertains to the virus. We have been very pleased to see significant drops of Covid cases all over the nation. The threat of this virus has diminished greatly and because of this, Streetz is working hard to safely move back to normalcy. However, different cities and venues require different procedures based on the severity of the virus in that area, therefore our procedures will be decided on a city by city basis.

Starting July 25th, the first day of Nationals, masks will be optional but still encouraged so long as the venue does not ask attendees to wear them otherwise. We understand that Nationals is a large event where social distancing may not be possible at times, so we highly suggest wearing your mask during those times.

We will also move back to in person awards ceremonies. We understand that everyone may not be ready for this yet so our competition and award ceremony will still be live-streamed. Studios that do not have a representative attending the live award ceremony to pick up your studios awards, please let us know beforehand so that we can prepare your awards to be picked up at a later time.

As we begin to lift some of these precautions and move back to our normal events, we want to assure you that your health and safety is our number one priority. We will still continue to heavily sanitize, encourage mask wearing and frequent hand washing, limiting any additional observers, and staying socially distanced where possible.

  • We will allow 2 guests per dancer to observe for the group competition and 2 guests per dancer for solo competition.

WHAT PARENTS CAN EXPECT FOR COMPETITION

  • Masks are required for everyone for the remainder of the entire season and until further notice. The only exception of this is when dancers are about to perform on stage. Even as state restrictions are being lifted, masks will still be required to be worn correctly by everyone. Streetz is considered a private event and can refuse service to those that may not comply with these rules. Further, a studio may lose points on their routines or even be disqualified from the competition if those affiliated with that studio are not wearing a mask or following other safety rules.

  • If you are feeling sick or have any COVID-19 symptoms we ask that you stay home and tune into the livestream to support your dancer(s).

  • You should expect there to be frequent audience rotation. You may only arrive to the designated competition entrance door at the back of the ballroom 2 routines ahead of the one you wish to watch. You will then be allowed into the ballroom and considered to be on deck 1 routine before the routine you wish to watch goes on stage. Once that routine is completed, you will be allowed to walk to the front of the ballroom where we will have designated seating for you to watch the routine from your studio. As soon as that routine is over, audience members will exit through designated competition exit doors at the front of the ballroom. Then the next group will take their place and the cycle will continue throughout the remainder of competition. The livestream will be a great tool to be able to tell which routine is currently onstage so that guests may better gauge when it is their time to enter the ballroom.

  • Please do not gather at the competition entrance door unless you are 2 routines away from watching your dancers.

  • There will only be 2 guests per dancer allowed to observe the solo and group competitions.  That does not include studio owners or teachers. For example, if there are 10 dancers on stage, there may be 20 guests in the audience and so forth.

  • The entire competition, including awards, will be livestreamed. We ask any extra guests watch via livestream to limit contact and exposure in the ballroom.

  • There will be periodic sanitization breaks throughout the competition. During this time, everyone will be asked to leave the ballroom but may return once the ballroom and stage has been fully sanitized. This break will typically be 5-10 minutes.

  • The first rows of seats are reserved for studio owners and teachers ONLY. They will be clearly labeled and we ask that you leave those seats open for them.

  • Photo and video is prohibited. Shutter Storm takes wonderful photos and videos of your dancer that you may purchase throughout the weekend. This rule is strictly enforced.

AWARDS AND SCHOLARSHIPS

  • Streetz has decided there will be no in-person awards until the pandemic of COVID-19 is resolved. This does include the competition awards and the Closing Show on Sunday.

  • All adjudication awards on Friday and Saturday following the competition, as well as the Closing Show will be streamed live. The live stream will be available to watch on all of your mobile devices, tablets and/or computers.

  • All competition awards will be available for contactless pickup by 12pm on Sunday. You may also choose to donate your awards back to Streetz if you do not want to pick them up.  Awards must be picked up at event as we will not be mailing out awards later. We invite you to have an in-studio awards ceremony where you and your dancers can celebrate all of your hard work!

  • Performance opportunities for the Closing Show will still be available through the Streetz Team program and will be a part of the live streamed closing show. The timing of the Closing Show live stream will be adjusted to allow dancers to pack up from the event.  Please see your city's schedule for timing.

Thank you all for being so patient and we can't wait to dance with you soon! Please do not hesitate to contact us if you should have any questions!

All the best,

Ty and Christina Riley
