2020-2021 COMPETITION PRICING
EXT. LINE (16-24)
(ends 30 days before event)
(Additional studio fees may apply.)
All fees are per dancer per routine.
A 5 point deduction will be taken if the time limit is exceeded.
NEED ADDITIONAL TIME? You may purchase up to 3 additional minutes of time for any Group, Line, Ext. Line, or Production for just $5 per dancer, per additional minute. PLEASE CONTACT THE OFFICE TO REQUEST MORE TIME.
**If the in-person event is unable to be held, studios and dancers may choose to attend the event virtually. Dancers can take workshop classes at home or at the studio may organize a "watch and dance party" at their studio. Competition routines will be uploaded to Streetz by provided upload link and judged virtually. Awards ceremonies will be broadcast live when all routines have been scored.
Competitions will NOT be open to the general public. Due to social distancing guidelines, we will only be opening the audience to Studio Owners, Studio Teachers, and Studio Assistants. A studio can purchase up to 2 Studio Assistant passes and this pass can be given to a parent for them to watch their dancer on stage. Please remember to check out our Live Stream.
Age is determined by actual age as of January 1st of the competition year.
To reach the average age of the entry, add all of the ages together and divide by the number of dancers in the entry. When averaging ages, always DROP THE DECIMAL POINT. For example, if a routine averages to an age 10.7, you would drop the decimal, therefore, the routine would compete in the 8-10 yr. old category.
2 WAYS TO COMPETE
COMPETITIVE - Entries compete against other dances for critiques, awards, and prizes.

CHOREOGRAPHY & MUSICALITY
First overall award winners will receive free entry to compete that dance at the current year's Streetz National Finals. To qualify, dance must be contested in the overall rankings meaning it must not be the only dance in the category and must be at least against one other dance.
BEST OF STREETZ
A select few Streetz Star, Mini, Junior, Teen, Senior and Pro-Am routines will be chosen, by consensus of the judges, to receive the Best of Streetz Award. Best of Streetz Awards are presented to the routines that the judges feel are, overall, the most technical AND entertaining. Depending on each studio's overall results, some Best of Streetz routines may be asked to re-perform in the Closing Show. Each Best of Streetz award winner receives free entry to compete that dance at the current year's Streetz National Finals.
STREETZ CHOICE AWARD
The best number from each studio will be chosen, by consensus of the judges, to perform in the weekend's Closing Show. It may be the highest score from the studio, it may not be. It is simply what the judges remembered and liked the most.
To be eligible for the Streetz Choice Award, a studio must have entered at least 10 entries (a minimum of 5 must be group routines. Group routines are 4+ dancers in the dance) into the competition. Each Streetz Choice Award routine must be a Group, Line, Extended Line or Production.
Each Streetz Choice Award winner receives free entry to compete that dance at the current year's Streetz National Finals.
Streetz Choice Award Winners will be announced at the last awards session of competition. Studios will be notified by 12pm the performance order for the closing show.
Please see your corresponding City Page at for specific entry limits for your tour city!
Streetz Stage is 40' x 28'.
IMPORTANT: If there are too many entries to compete all the routines on Saturday, anyone registering for a solo or duo/trio must be available to perform on Fridays after 3:30pm. If THE STREETZ decides to schedule any solos or duo/trios before 3:30pm on Friday and a routine decides not to perform, THE STREETZ will provide a full refund. In a few rare circumstances, there might be a Group Competition on Friday between after 3:30pm. If this happens, we will do our best to notify the studio at least two weeks prior. There will NEVER be Group Competition on Friday before 3:30pm.
Streetz welcomes general props to our competition! However, the use of props is the sole responsibility of the studio. Props must be placed and removed from the stage within 30 seconds combined by the studio. It is also the studio’s responsibility to ensure the stage is left clean and clear following their performance. Teachers, dancers and parents are more than welcome to help with props as long as the judges cannot see any studio affiliation. Please refrain from using fire or helium balloons as well as props being thrown into the judges area and/or audience. Streetz cannot guarantee props over 10’h will fit on the stage. No paint or liquids can be used as props. No liquid or paint will be allowed.
FAMILY FRIENDLY ROUTINES
THE STREETZ realizes that dance and art cross a broad range of styles, taste, and appropriateness. However, THE STREETZ is a family event and our event will reflect this type of view. Each judge's critique sheet has a check box for appropriateness and a 5 point deduction for each judge that checks this box. If all 3 judges check this box the routine may be disqualified.

“Helpers” must meet the following requirements:
1)must re registered as a student or assistant teacher for the entire convention.
2)must be registered as a performer as performer and have fees paid for any competition entries they perform in.
•All numbers must appear according to their scheduled sequence unless a STREETZ stage manager grants permission otherwise.
•In the event that an entry is choreographed by one of the judges, he/she will only critique the entry and then his/her "score" will be the score that gets dropped. The other 2 judges scores will be averaged to create the dropped score.
•Judges may stop a number in progress and request that it be repeated. If Streetz' equipment fails, the studio may choose to continue or to re-do the number. If performers' equipment fails, excluding music CDs, the performance must continue or be withdrawn.
•Competing dancers should be ready 1 hour prior to their scheduled competition time. The Competition may run up to 1 hour early and each dancer will be expected to perform at the earlier time. Also, please keep this in mind if you are leaving the competition and plan on returning for Awards. A quick way to check to see if we are running early is to tune into the livestream at livestream.com/thestreetzdance.
•All Streetz attendees authorize the use of their images in photos and video for any and all Streetz' purposes.
•In the event that a Streetz Company Member would like to compete, they must follow the 50% company rule policy. The rule states, if 50% or more of the dancers in the dance are company members, the dance may not be classified as competitive. It must go into the showcase division. If less than 50% of the dancers in a number are Streetz Company Members, the dance may enter the Competitive division. For example: a company member may not compete a solo or duo, however, a trio would qualify as competitive if they are the only company member in the dance.
The judges may choose to move a number into a different category (example, from Open to Jazz, etc.) based on dance style, The Streetz rules, etc. There are no penalties or deduction when this occurs. The decision of the judges is final.
NEW THIS YEAR! Score sheets and video critiques will be uploaded to your studio accounts no later Tuesday after the event. Printed score sheets are available upon request.
By entering The Streetz Convention and Competition you accept that the decision of the judges is final.
A 10-point deduction will be taken from your score for misconduct in the dressing room and/or the backstage area.
Each number will be judged by video critiques that will be uploaded to their competition account on thestreetzdance.com. Videos will be upload no later than 1 week after the event.
In the event that the judging system or microphones go out during a dance number, Streetz is not liable to give a full refund.
All competition music should be uploaded to the registration system no later than 2 weeks before the event date. To upload, log into your studio account and click the upload music button on the dashboard.
Please remember to have a backup readily available if there is an issue with the music. Sometimes the best backup is to have a ipod, usb drive, phone, or computer that we can plug in and make sure the song plays. You can also use a CD as backup but make sure there is only 1 song per CD and labeled with the performance name and number.
If you have any questions about how to upload the music into the registration system, please contact us directly at 409-356-7844.
